From microphone to your first sound.
Choose your notes
Set a key and scale. Adjust correction amount, retune speed and expression. Fast tuning creates a more pronounced effect, while a slower transition leaves more room for movement.
Keep your take
Record, compare the original and processed sound, then export a 24-bit WAV or an editable .astratune project. The original take stays separate from correction and effects.
02 / PITCH & EXPRESSION
Correct the pitch, not the personality.
Pitch correction moves a voice toward allowed notes. With AstraTune, you can control its strength, transpose the voice and adjust formants. Formant compensation remains a spectral approximation, not a perfect reconstruction of vocal tone.
Intention: a musical gesture
The Intention pad combines vocal character and space. Its movements can be captured during a microphone take, edited as a curve, replayed and included in the export.
A modular effects rack
Color adds body, air and saturation. Space adds reverb, Echo adds delay, and Double creates a time-based double. Enable, reorder and adjust modules without rewriting the source audio.
AstraTune is an independent instrument, not Antares Auto-Tune or Celemony Melodyne. Its engine processes a monophonic voice; it does not separate multiple singers from a recording.
03 / CHOIR GEOMETRY
One voice. Two harmonies around it.
Choir Geometry adds two genuinely pitch-shifted voices. Choose a scale interval or a fixed octave. Move points A and B horizontally for stereo pan and vertically for level. Equivalent controls are available from the keyboard.
Constellation, Octaves and Embrace offer three starting points. The choir starts off; its settings travel with your project and processed WAV. Unlike the Double module, it produces pitch harmonies rather than just delayed copies.
04 / PHRASE COMPASS & EDITING
Explore a melody before replacing it.
In the editor, select a note or place the playhead. Phrase Compass offers three local directions: Lift gradually raises the contour, Suspension opens up the ending, and Mirror reverses its movement. The proposals use musical rules, not a remote model.
Ghost notes distinguish the preview from your version. Hear the phrase, compare, then apply your choice as a single undoable action. You can then move notes, split or merge detections, and adjust modulation or drift. Correction boundaries do not move the underlying audio in time.
05 / YOUR VOICE STAYS HERE
A local-first studio, in a web page.
- AstraTune does not upload your recordings or require an account. Audio processing happens on your device using Web Audio and AudioWorklet.
- Scenes use browser local storage; explicitly saved sessions use IndexedDB. The application includes no tracking analytics or remotely loaded fonts.
- Automatic recovery is optional. It preserves completed takes and edits, not a recording interrupted before it finishes.
- Browser storage can be cleared. An .astratune file preserves the original and settings outside that storage; a WAV contains exported audio.
- Loading the website still connects to its host, whose configuration may produce HTTP logs. “Local audio” means the app does not send your recordings, not that browsing is anonymous.
06 / COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you sing.
Do I need to install an app or create an account?
The web studio needs neither installation nor an account. Enable JavaScript and use a browser that supports Web Audio and AudioWorklet. This guide is readable without JavaScript. Microphone access and audio format support depend on your browser and device.
Can I import a recording instead of using a microphone?
Yes. Import a solo vocal in mono or stereo, up to 50 MB and three minutes. WAV, MP3, M4A and OGG are common choices; decoding depends on your browser. Stereo input is mixed to mono for pitch correction.
Is pitch correction latency-free?
No. Windowed processing, audio buffers and hardware introduce delay. The interface shows a partial estimate, not a round-trip measurement. Even a retune speed of 0 ms does not remove that delay.
Can AstraTune correct a full song with its instruments?
The engine is designed for a solo voice. It does not separate vocals from instruments, automatically recognize backing-track chords or provide polyphonic correction.
Is the demo a human voice?
No. The built-in demo is an original synthetic vocal phrase, clearly labeled as such. It lets you discover the controls without microphone access; it does not demonstrate processing quality on every human voice.
Can I use the processed sound as a microphone in Discord or another app?
Not directly from this web page. A virtual microphone device or separate native integration would be needed. The current studio supports monitoring, recording and exporting the processed voice.
The voice is the instrument.
